UpKeep Learn
Impact

UpKeep Learn is a training app for maintenance and safety crews. I designed it from zero: the information architecture, the admin and learner experiences, and how AI helps create courses. Later I audited the live product and shipped the fixes myself.
The Problem
When a maintenance technician needs to get certified on a new machine, someone has to write that training, and an expert usually needs days to put one course together. Most training tools out there are made for HR departments, not for people on a factory floor. In the old version, admins had to click through one dialog after another to set people up, and workers couldn't easily tell which training was overdue.
My Role
I was the UX lead and also a UX engineer. I designed the information architecture, the admin and learner flows and the AI course creation. After launch, I audited the product, found 25 UX problems and fixed them myself in 14 pull requests.
The Solution
An admin writes a short description of the course they need. AI drafts the lessons, the slides and the narration. Nothing goes live until a person reviews each change the AI made. And when a worker opens the app, the first thing they see is what's due.

What customers got
The audit turned into a list of small fixes, each designed in Figma and then shipped. One release rebuilt admin settings, compliance records, learner progress, the sidebar and the training lists, all using UpKeep's shared component library.
